Created by Lucie Basch in order to reduce food waste, there are currently 29477 partners institutions and they saved 36 millions meals.

The beneficiaries of the project are every people who buy good meals that would otherwise go to trash and those at lower cost.

The need the project is answering is the reduction of food waste and to do so it connects establishements with food to be discarded and people wanting it.

They used social media, a website and an app to promote their concept. To encourage people to use the app, they use a technologie of pushed notifications.

The beneficiaries of the project are every people who want to compost their organic waste but has not access to a composting bin.

The need the project is answering is the need to use the organic waste who have created a lot of greenhouse gases to be produce by helping people who want to recycle their organic waste but don't know how.

They used social media, a website and an app to promote their concept. To encourage people to use the app, they use a private messaging function within the app.

Created in 2011, it is a "group of contributors from the kitchen, classroom and web communities".

The beneficiaries of the project are every people who want to know if their expired products are still consumable.

The need the project is answering is the reduction of food waste and to do so it informed healthy food consumer.

Created in 2008 by Milda Mitkude and Justas Janauskas in order to reduce waste of clothes and over-consumption. There are over 30 millions members.

The beneficiaries of the project are every people who have clothes that they don't use and that clutter up their closets. They earn money by selling their clothes and people can buy cheaper clothes.

The need the project is answering is avoiding to waste clothes by encouraging people to give away clothes they don't want to people who want to buy them.

It is an app that connects restaurants and supermarket that have leftovers with individuals who wish to recover them.


Technical overview - API version

APIs services used by too good to go are geolocalisation, paypal. The app indicates at what times you can pick up your food and there is a countdown.


Added value thanks to APIs

APIs allow too good to go to work. Indeed, thanks to the geolocation service, users are put in contact with restaurants and supermarkets with leftovers. In addition, the app ensures the proper functioning of the exchange between the merchant and the individual by taking care of the online payment and giving a countdown to know when to pick up the food.
